An einem der wichtigsten Plätze der Stadt, zwischen Oper und Hauptbahnhof, mitten im Herzen Hannovers, liegt das SMARTCITY DESIGNHOTEL. Das stilvolle Hotel ist Teil des renommierten CITYHOTEL AM THIELENPLATZ und verfügt über insgesamt 30 komfortable Zimmer und Suiten, gestaltet durch den international bekannten Stararchitekten und –designer Matteo Thun. Damit wurde der Entwurf des renommierten Architekten Prof. Dr. Dieter Oesterlen aus den frühen fünfziger Jahren vollendet und das Objekt öffnete im August 2012 -als erstes Designhotel Hannovers - seine Türen. In dem 7-Stockwerke hohen Turm-Gebäude, mit neuer zeitloser Fassade, entstanden 12 Comfort-Zimmer, 12 Deluxe-Zimmer und 6 Suiten bis zu einer Größe von 45 m² im 4-Sterne-Segment. Das Interieur der Zimmer steht im Dialog mit der Fassade und interpretiert den Spirit der 50er Jahre auf moderne und doch klassische Art.  Open Space beherrscht das Layout der Zimmer. Das Bad wird durch gläserne Wände zum Teil des Schlafzimmers, verbunden durch ein Sideboard – es ist Waschtisch zugleich. Jedes Zimmer hat 2,60 Meter hohe und dreifach verglaste Fenster, die bis zum Boden reichen. Alle Bäder sind mit Fußbodenheizung ausgestattet. Die Möblierung setzt sich aus handgefertigten Möbeln und Designklassikern, passend zur Entstehungszeit des Hotels zusammen: Vitra Eames Organic Chairs & Plastic Side Chairs, Gubi Bestlite & Artemide Leuchten, Eichenparkett natur, LED-TV als Multimedia-Gerät mit HDMI- und Apple-Vorrichtung, dimmbare indirekte Beleuchtung und vielem mehr. Auf die herkömmliche Klimaanlage wurde verzichtet, stattdessen sorgt ein intelligentes Be- und Entlüftungssystem mit gefilterter Luft für ein angenehmes Raumklima. Die Suiten bestehen aus einem separaten Schlaf- und Wohnbereich und bieten die Möglichkeit, Meetings mit bis zu 6 Geschäftspartnern in exklusiver Atmosphäre durchzuführen. Gastronomisch wird das Angebot durch die Hotelbar mini bar und das -in den ehemaligen Räumen des Kinos- entstandene Restaurant L’OSTERIA abgerundet. Located on one of the most important squares in the city, between the opera and central train station, right in the heart of Hanover, you'll find SMARTCITY DESIGNHOTEL. This stylish hotel is part of the celebrated CITYHOTEL AM THIELENPLATZ, featuring more than 30 comfortable rooms and suites designed by the internationally renowned star architect and designer Matteo Thun. This hotel represents the consummation of a concept developed by the renowned architect Prof Dr Dieter Oesterlen in the early Fifties. The building opened its doors in August 2012 - as the first designer hotel in Hanover. This 7-storey tower building with a new timeless façade houses 12 comfort rooms, 12 deluxe rooms and 6 suites of up to 45 m² in the 4-star segment. The interior design of the rooms constitutes a dialogue with the façade, interpreting the spirit of the 50s in a modern, yet classic fashion. The layout of the rooms is characterised by open space. Baths have glass walls, making them part of the bedroom, connected via a sideboard - which simultaneously serves as a washbasin. The colour palette consists of neutral achromatic, yet warm grey-white shades with splashes of colourful elements and hand-painted tiles and washbasins. Every room has 2.6-metre three-pane windows reaching all the way to the floor. All baths are equipped with floor heating. Furnishings consist of hand-made furniture and design classics reflecting the hotel's origins: Vitra Eames organic chairs & plastic side chairs, Gubi Bestlite & Artemide lamps, natural oak parquet, LED TV as a multimedia device with HDMI and Apple interfaces, dimmable indirect lighting and much more. Traditional climate control systems have not been implemented. Instead, we use an intelligent ventilation and de-airing system with filtered air to provide a pleasant indoor climate. The suites have a separate bedroom and den area, providing a venue for meetings in an exclusive atmosphere with up to 6 business partners.
